About Us
We, Paula and Frans, are two Dutch people who are living their dream and have moved to Swedish Lapland
In the Netherlands, we both had very demanding jobs and, after a day’s work, we often didn’t see each other until the evening, just before going to bed. Our love for the Far North began in 1995 when we travelled to Scandinavia for the first time in our car. We were immediately enchanted by the vastness of the landscape, the overwhelming unspoilt nature, and the peace and quiet. In the years that followed, we invariably visited the Far North in a hire campervan. Over a four-week period, we covered an average of 10,000 km.

In 2006, whilst on a mountain hike in the mountains on the border between Sweden and Norway, the idea of emigrating to Swedish Lapland took shape. Standing on a mountain, gazing northwards, we resolved: “We’ll live there together one day”. In 2007, we bought our house in the village of Tväråträsk, right in the heart of the Swedish-Lapp wilderness.

Our company
Our company, Laplandtime, has been offering fishing packages since 2009. Since then, we have been able to offer many anglers the chance to experience ‘Pure Relaxation’. At the end of 2012, we were able to buy the house of our neighbour Tore, who had passed away that year, and in 2013 we completely renovated it. Since 2015, in addition to our fishing packages, we have also been organising winter adventures in the form of snowmobile tours combined with husky treks.

The two of us run our business together, and it’s lovely to be able to do this side by side, each drawing on our own experience and strengths. Personal attention, a small-scale approach and quality are the hallmarks of our way of working. You won’t find any mass tourism here. You’ll spend whole days alone with your group members in the breathtaking Lapland wilderness. You’ll feel like a child on a Sunday. Led by our guide, Jonas, you’ll set off into the Lapland wilderness on a maximum of four snowmobiles. We believe it’s important that every member of the group feels special.
You arrive as a guest and leave as a friend.
The relationships we build are long-lasting. We often see many of our guests return here to our beautiful Lapland. You’ll be staying in one of our accommodation options: the Tores Lodge or the upper floor of our house, which is entirely dedicated to our guests. Plenty of privacy for every group. Since 2026, the brand-new Jukta Lodge has also been available to guests.
Our approach
A key feature of our approach is that we do not simply wish to capitalise on all the wonderful things Swedish Lapland has to offer our tourism business, but also to make a meaningful contribution to the local business environment. Working with local suppliers is important to us, whether it’s buying groceries from the small local supermarket or purchasing snowmobiles from the regional dealer. We consider contributing to the local economy to be more important than doing business more cheaply in a big city. In addition, we contribute to our own village through the activities we undertake on the village council.

Would you also like to escape the daily hustle and bustle and stress? Away from the hectic world around you. To go somewhere where you don’t need a watch and where you can hear the silence? Where the air is still pure and you can still smell the scents of the seasons! And where you feel special and are pampered. Here at our company, Laplandtime, in Swedish Lapland – one of Europe’s last remaining wildernesses – that’s entirely possible. See you soon, or, as the Swedes say, vi ses!
